Top 10 Green World Success Tips
Here are my best 10 Success Tips, listed in no particular order.
# 1: This Business is a numbers game
Network marketing is a numbers game. Sales is a numbers game. Business is a numbers game. Dating is a numbers game. Green World is also a numbers game. Yes, it’s also a business of relationships, skills, and strategies, but if you don’t work the numbers properly, you will never build a big business.
Most people you talk with will not be interested in your Green World business, regardless of what you say to them. Why? Most people are not entrepreneurial. Most people are not interested in Green World or network marketing.
However, some people will be interested. Even if you can sponsor just one in ten people you talk with, you can build a HUGE Amway business by working the numbers. As you improve your skills, strategy, and mindset, your success ratio will improve. That means you will be able to talk with fewer prospects and still sponsor the same number of people.
You must realize that most people you talk to will not buy your products or join your business, regardless of what you say or do. You must also realize that most people who do join your business will do nothing and quit. A few will do something consistently each month and maybe one to three percent of the people who join your team will be serious and committed.
From what I have found, for every 100 people who join a network marketing company, this is about what you can expect.
80-90 will join and quit in 90 days or less (some of those will revert to being a customer)
10 will be part-timers and do something from time to time (your side hustlers and retailers)
1 or 2 will be serious, coachable, and willing to work hard
These numbers are from my own experience and are similar numbers with many of my six figure MLM friends.
Based off these stats, this is what I would recommend:
Lead with the products. Most people are not entrepreneurial, but EVERYONE is a consumer. It’s easier to find a customer than a new distributor.
If you are just looking for serious people, you are missing out on at least 90% of your potential income.
Never pressure ANYONE to do more with the business than they want to. Treat everyone well. You need customers, part-timers, side-hustlers, retailers, and serious people.
Your best people are rarely personally sponsored. Keep your eyes and ears open for leaders and potential leaders in depth.
Remember that every prospect is a prospect for life. Build your database while you work the numbers and circle back to each prospect once every 90 to 180-days. Some people will take YEARS to recruit.
You only need three to six SERIOUS people to create a HUGE income in Amway, and those people don’t need to be personally sponsored.
And here’s one last tip.
Exposure is everything. The fortune is in the follow-up. Work with the willing.
# 2: Following the System Isn’t What Makes You Money
I’m sure some people will give me a had time for saying this. Oh well. I just ask you to read the entire section and hear me out for a minute.
Systems are important in every business. They provide guidance and instruction on what to do. While I believe that attending functions, listening to tapes, counseling with your upline, and reading books will help you grow as a person, and learn new skills, I am 100% sure those things will not grow your Green World business or make you money.
Why? Because in network marketing we only get paid to do TWO THINGS: retail and recruit. Those are the only two activities that actually grow your business and put money in your pocket.
You can read hundreds of books, go to every event, and listen to ten tapes per day, but if you don’t spend most of your time and effort retailing and recruiting, you won’t make any money in your Green World business (or any network marketing company).
That is the key to success in Green World : making lots of daily express so you can retail and recruit. If you do that daily, you can succeed in a big way, even if you aren’t plugged into the system, or going to the functions.
Of course, if you do those two things AND leverage your upline’s system, you will position yourself for quicker success.
Look at What Everyone Else is Doing and Do the Complete Opposite
# 3: Be Different
All businesses need a unique selling proposition. Also known as a USP, this is what differentiates you from everyone else in the marketplace and tells people why they should do business with you, rather than with someone else.
If all Green World distributors are building their business the exact same way, this gives you a wonderful opportunity to stand out in the crowd (if you can find a way to be different). Figure out your own natural talents and abilities and ask yourself how you can leverage those talents and abilities to build your Green World business.
Of course, you still need to follow the company’s policies and procedures, but when you do things differently from everyone else, you can do very well.
For example, maybe you are good at public speaking. If so, why not volunteer as a speaker at different events in your local community, and give classes on natural health products? Or talk about the power of having a home-based business?
If you did this, you could get the contact information of everyone at the event and call them about the products and business opportunity at a future date. Heck, some of these folks might even reach out to you to learn more about what you do. Talk about a win-win scenario.
This is just one example of what you could do. I suggest you take an hour or two and make a detailed list of everything you are naturally good at. If you can’t think of anything ask your spouse, parents, or friends what they think you are best at.
Brainstorm a few ideas and pick the one you think offers the most potential, and then focus on that.
Let me give you an example. I didn’t have my big breakthrough in the industry until I started blogging. I naturally love teaching and writing. It never gets old to me. So I decided to write about network marketing and teach others (back in 2020).
As a result, I positioned myself as an expert (known as attraction marketing) and people reached out to me first. Keep in mind, I’m not telling you to go start Green World blog. Instead, I’m telling you to come up with a strategy that aligns with your personality, skills, and talents (one that follows the company’s policies and procedures).
# 4: Be Smart with Your Money
Entrepreneurs must be smart with their money.
Before you spend one dollar on training, marketing, advertising, functions, or business tools, you should ask yourself if the money you spend will give you a positive return on your investment, immediately or in the foreseeable future. If it doesn’t, don’t spend the money.
One of the common complaints that people (on the internet anyway) have with Green World is the cost of the business support materials. They complain that the ongoing cost of the business tools makes it almost impossible for the average person to make a profit in their business.
I’m not saying that business tools aren’t important (they are), but if buying the tools and going to the events takes away your business’s profit, and destroys your cash flow, I would not buy them.
Keep a close eye on your money. Create a separate checking account for your Green World business. Prepare a monthly profit and loss statement for your business. If you find yourself spending more than you make, month after month, spend less money!
Don’t forget to retail either. That’s one of the quickest ways to improve your cash flow. Always maintain at least five to ten personal retail customers, which will give you enough profit to cover most of your business expenses. Learn how to manage your money or you won’t have any to manage!
# 5: Pick a Target Market to Focus On
One of my best GREEN WORLD success tips is to focus on a niche group or target market. Rather than thinking of anyone and everyone as a prospect for the business (or products), why not pick a specific demographic of people to focus on? Let me explain.
All businesses have an ideal customer. This could be people from a certain town, age group, gender, race, income bracket, or countless other things.
When it comes to Green World, you have two groups of people you should focus on. One group will be people for the business opportunity and the other group will be people for the products.
I suggest you spend some time and write down the traits and qualities of your ideal prospect for each of those categories. What do they have in common? What type of person are you looking for? The more specific you can be the better.
Once you know what type of prospect you are looking for, focus on finding people with those qualities. For example, if you decide your best prospect for the business is someone with sales or entrepreneurial experience, spend most of your time prospecting people with that type of experience.
This can save you a lot of time in the long run. It also allows you to work smart. Just to be clear, I’m not telling you to discriminate or pre-judge people. What I am telling you to do is to be smart with your prospecting and focus on the best quality prospects you can. This is what smart business owners do.
attrition in Green World
# 6: Understand Attrition
You must understand this business model. Attrition is quite perhaps the # 1 biggest obstacle in network marketing. In most cases, more than half your team will quit the business every year. Maybe even 80 to 90 percent of your team.
This has nothing to do with Green World your upline, or you. It is very common in network marketing. It is common in just about everything in life. Most people quit their marriage. Most people who go to college never graduate. Most people who buy a gym membership stop going within a month or two.
Attrition can be frustrating if you don’t have realistic expectations. It’s easy to take it personal when people quit, or think it’s your fault. It’s not.
The system will help keep some people in the business, but most people will not stay with you for the long haul. That is okay. Your job is to work with the willing. At the end of the day you have no control over what someone else does in their business. All you can do is encourage others and lead by example.
And keep in mind, even if most people quit, you can still build a large team and large residual income.
# 7: Keep a Balance
During my time in Green World, the business consumed my life. To be honest, it’s easy for any entrepreneur to let their business take over their life.
When you love your business it’s easy to think about the business 24/7. Heck, I am aware of this myself with my own businesses.
All things aside, balance is important, especially if you have a spouse and kids. Your family should always come first, followed by your job (that pays the bills) and then your Green World business. If you are religious, by all means put that first.
Just remember that when you make it to the top, you still want to have your family with you! The last thing you want to do is sacrifice the relationships with your family, just to build your Green World business (or any other business).
Make sure you schedule time each week (and every day) for your kids, your spouse, your faith, and whatever else is important to you. Your Green World business doesn’t have to consume your entire life for you to succeed.
You can work your Green World business an hour or two a day and succeed, if you do it consistently, and work smart.
Always Take the Long Term View in Your Business
# 8: Take the Long-Term View
Our society is filled with short-term thinkers. Most people live pay-day to pay-day and can’t think past their next paycheck.
To be honest with you, the odds of you building a successful Amway business (or any business) in your first year or two is almost impossible. Most businesses take a couple of years just to be profitable and five to ten years to be stable and successful.
Considering you are building your Green World business part-time, it’s going to take a while to make it to the top ranks, and make a good income. Most of the Diamonds I’ve studied took anywhere from five to ten years (or more) just to make it to Diamond.
Develop the long-term view with your Green World business. Think of it as your part-time, long-term project. Think of it as your five to ten-year plan to replace your job income.
Realize that good things don’t happen overnight. It takes time to build a successful business of any kind.
# 9: Part-Time Is Better Than Full-Time
I learned this valuable lesson from Jim Rohn. Part-time is better than full-time.
I once heard a seven-figure earner (name withheld) tell me that $3k per month part-time is better than $10k per month full-time (when it comes to network marketing).
At first, I thought he was crazy for saying this, but after processing it and thinking about it, it makes a lot of sense to me now.
Think about it this way. If you can work your Green World business just thirty to ninety minutes per day and build up your business, even to the Platinum level, in three to four years, that is a great deal.
If you can maintain your business working 10-20 hours per week (40 to 80 hours per month) and earn $3k to $5, that is huge.
Compare that to having to work 40-80 hours per week to earn and maintain $10k per month. If you break that down into an hourly wage, the part-timer makes more per hour than the full-timer!
The real beauty of network marketing is that it is designed to start part-time, until your income replaces your job income. Going full time right away (or too soon) is a huge mistake. Don’t do it!
In fact, many six figure earners in many MLM Companies still keep their day job and build their business part-time! Remember, it takes time to produce a significant cash flow in ANY new business. It typically takes one to three YEARS to build a profitable business (in the real world).
Stay part-time in Green World as long as you can. Invest the money. Pay off your debt. Live below your means. Save for a rainy day! Keep Green World as your side hustle.
Also, don’t let the business consume your life. Set business hours. Work your business minimum five days a week, for an hour or two a day.
Keep your day job. Spend time with your family. Enjoy life. And remember that part-time is better than some-time or no-time. In many cases, it’s even better than full-time.
And here’s my best tip: Be Part-Time with a Full-Time Attitude! This simply means you are 100% committed to your business during your work hours.
# 10: Don’t Forget the Little Money
It’s easy to only think about the big money. After all, the Diamond lifestyle is amazing. The income you can make as a Platinum is also appealing.
While either of those two things might appeal to you, most of your prospects will NOT be interested in the big money. For most KENYANS an extra $300 to $500 per month would completely change their life for the better!
When you talk with prospects, by all means talk about the income potential, but don’t forget to show them how Green World could help them earn an extra ksh 32,000 to ksh 100,000 per month as well. This is what will appeal to most people you talk with.
Bonus Tip: Don’t Waste Your Time with the Wrong People
This is a mistake I’ve made many times in my network marketing career. I’m not proud to admit it either, but it’s the truth.
You must realize that you can’t make anyone else successful in the business. You can’t drag anyone across the finish line. Each person is their own CEO and is responsible for their own business. In some cases, you will want success more for someone else than they want it for themselves.
You should love on everyone and treat everyone well, but don’t get stuck in management mode either. It’s not your job to manage anyone. Your job is to lead by example and work with the willing.
Work with the people who go to events, do what you suggest, and put in the work. This might represent three to five percent of your team, if you are lucky.
You are looking for people who are hungry, coachable, and willing to work. If your team isn’t growing, go find a new team! Remember this, it’s better to run with one than push twenty.
Success in the Green World business is predictable if you do certain things in a certain way, for a long enough amount of time. Why can I say that? Because many people have succeeded in Green World On the other hand, if you dabble with it or have the “I’ll try it out and see how it goes” attitude, you will fail. Success never goes on sale. You must pay the full price. Success requires 100% commitment.
